Tuition Assistance

There are many resources available to parents who wish to enroll or keep their children in a Catholic school. I thought I would explain some of these resources since the time for re-registering your child at Ss. Peter and Paul is approaching.

Catholic Elementary School Tuition Aid Program (CTAP) is a program that provides needs-based tuition aid for Catholic and non-Catholic families. Any parent or guardian with a kindergarten to eighth grade student who is registered for the 2008-2009 academic year at a regional or parish affiliated Catholic elementary school within the Diocese of Buffalo is eligible to apply for CTAP. Families must demonstrate need for aid according to an Income Eligibility Scale to qualify for consideration. Families must also commit to paying a minimum of $500 in tuition for their children. Applications must be postmarked by May 1, 2008. Applications may be obtained from the school office or on http://wnycatholicschools.org. Please click on Tuition Aid Options.

The Diocese of Buffalo's Tuition Grant Program (CTGP) is for parish schools only. This grant program is offered to parish schools only. CTGP is offered to families who are deemed "active" parishioners of a parish without a school and who wish to enroll their children in another parish affiliated Catholic school in the Diocese of Buffalo. A tuition grant of $1000 per child is credited to the parish school for the family. A Parishioner Verification Form must be completed and signed by both the family and their parish pastor. This form may be downloaded at http://wnycatholicschools.org. Please click on Tuition Aid Options.

The BISON Fund is an acronym for The Buffalo Inner-city Scholarship Opportunity Network. It is a privately funded scholarship program for low-income children living in Buffalo, Lackawanna, West Seneca, Cheektowaga, Snyder/Eggertsville, Kenmore, and the Town of Tonawanda who wish to attend non-public elementary. The BISON Fund office can be reached at 854-0869 or at www.bisonfund.com. Applications are due April 25, 2008. You may also obtain forms from the school office.

In addition to this, our school has limited opportunities for financial assistance via the St. Ann's Scholarship and the Benzino Scholarship Programs. Please call me directly if you have any questions concerning these two programs.

Dear Parents,
Make A Wish for the teachers was very successful. Thank you to all those who took Post-Its from the teachers' classrooms! Several of the teachers did not have any Post-Its left over!
Now it's time to take action, so PLEASE try and purchase or find the item you selected. Below is a list of additional items which were not taken. This was requested by Julie Clements who was unable to attend that night, but still wished to participate. A great idea, Julie!!!
If you have any questions regarding items, please contact the teacher directly, or Mary LaMartina at 565-1099 or Elizabeth Shabala, at 390-5773 or via email at beeshabs@roadrunner.com.
I have several coupons for 40% off at KnowPlace, so contact me if you would like one. There is also a teacher consignment store on the corner of Cleveland and Lamark across from Troidel's Optician in Cheektowaga. I think it is called Teachers Tools and Treasures.
